An organic restaurant in the centre of Florence, a stone’s throw from the Cathedral, Il Desco Bistrot provides natural cuisine with fresh, quality Tuscan products, grown on our family farm in the Florentine hills, Podere La Croce.
The farm-to-table cuisine of this Florentine bistro provides seasonal menus for all kind of palates, with tasty recipes also for vegetarians and celiacs.

We have chosen to follow the rhythm of the seasons. We know our suppliers personally. We believe the joy of eating is the most important thing.
Choosing ingredients and creating menus together with Shams and our chef is my passion. Seeing our project becoming a reality and growing with our team is satisfying beyond words!
I manage the Bistro with Giulia and I love choosing the wines that will work with simple recipes and ingredients from our region, following the course of the seasons and authentic flavours.
Every time you go organic, you are guaranteed to have a product that has been made respecting nature and animals. I am in charge of the family farm La Croce, in order to provide fresh and natural products every day that respects the cycle of nature and enhances the tasty recipes by Il Desco!
I select quality ingredients first which I then use to create healthy and tasty recipes with Francesco Bernetti and Enrico Lo Presti. Our organic cuisine doesn’t skimp on taste and we are always experimenting.
Passion and fun are the necessary ingredients required to do my job in the best way and at Il Desco fun is guaranteed!
Professionalism and a sunny disposition are our trademark when it comes to service. Recipes, wines, staff, everything reflects an atmosphere of simplicity, but with good taste!
We left full, in love with the food, and with 2 tins of their housemade olive oil. My only sadness is that we didn’t find this place before our last day in Florence!
One of the best vegetarian meals we had, ever! All the culinary creations were delicious! The wine was great! The service was great too! We will definitely go back to this restaurant the next time we stop by Florence.
This is a small restaurant with very nice staff. The food is very tasteful and made with good and biological products. As I have several food intolerances, eating in restaurants can be very stressful, but here the staff was very kind and helpful. It has gluten and lactose free options, not many, but delicious.
Really good food with locally sourced meat and vegetables and an interested range on the menu. Plus very friendly staff.
Had 2 apps and 2 mains (prosciutto plate, codfish mousse, spinach flan, and Lasagna Bolognase) plus a bottle of wine, a dark chocolate orange and cardamon molten cake, plus 2 espresso. Everything was awesome and prepared in Front of us in the open kitchen. All the flavours were perfect and simple and amazing. I can see why it’s Michelin Star rated.
Having experienced traditional Florence cuisine, if you wish to try a Florence chef that cooks natural ingredients with fresh flavours without being too fine dining this is the place to go. Service is great. Wine is good.
This place is such a surprise from start to finish, the food and the service are just as spectacular as Florence, it’s unmissable.
